Sydney Zoo announces opening date

The highly anticipated Sydney Zoo is finally ready for visitors, announcing its opening date will be Saturday 7 December, with tickets now available online.

Opening just in time for the school holidays, the world-class zoo is set to be the new major attraction for families in Western Sydney. It will be home to a wide selection of exotic and native animals and feature its own aquarium as well as Australia’s largest Reptile and Nocturnal house.

The zoo has also been designed with no hills or steps, making it perfect for wheelchairs and prams.

To celebrate their grand opening, Sydney Zoo’s Managing Director, Jake Burgess has revealed that visitors will be able to get closer than ever before to some of the world’s most iconic animals at a fairly affordable price.

“We want everyone to have a great experience, so we have opted to sell our grand opening tickets and memberships online only and in session times to manage capacity. A day at Sydney Zoo will be great value for money, including free parking, keepers talks and shows, along with a variety of high-quality food and beverage options at competitive prices,” Burgess said.

Sydney Zoo has also been commended by Stuart Ayres MP, Minister for Western Sydney, for its commitment to both animal welfare and delivering an unrivalled guest experience for locals and tourists alike.

“Sydney Zoo is a real asset for the local community and another reason to make a day or a weekend of a visit to Western Sydney. We believe that the experiences it delivers will bring people together and it will quickly become a much-loved destination for the people of Western Sydney,” he commented.
