The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort will be the debut property for Westin Hotels & Resorts in the Republic of Maldives. Opening October 2018, the resort heralds a new horizon for the Westin brand’s commitment to the wellness industry.
The resort is located idyllically on a stunning coral island in the Baa Atoll, best known as being a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve site. As such, the resort has taken a visionary approach towards environmental sustainability in order to preserve the beautiful location.
The resort has been assembled by award-winning Milan-based architects PEIA Associati, and was designed with the ocean as inspiration with the bungalows seamlessly melting into the divine surrounds.
In classic Maldivian form, 29 of the 70 villas will be poised over crystal waters on stilts. With over 200 square metres each, guests will feel as though they are on their own private island. These suites represent some of the largest available in the Baa Atoll region.
The remaining 41 villas reside beachside with a number featuring private infinity pools.
Guests need not leave their pristine surroundings with three resort restaurants to choose from as well as a rooftop bar. Island Kitchen will provide guests with an all-day dining experience with a carefully crafted menu that combines quality Chinese, Indian and Maldivian cuisine.
The Pearl is the jewel in the resort’s crown with stunning ocean views and exquisite Japanese cuisine. For guests craving more of a casual dining experience then Hawker is the go to. Featuring a bar and a live kitchen Hawker serves up quality authentic Asian food. The Sunset Bar is the perfect place to wind down a day of hardcore relaxation with tapas and cocktails mixed by master mixologists.
The unique resort features the best of the Westin’s signature services including the Heavenly Spa by Westin, the 24 hour Westin Workout fitness centre and the Westin Kids club. marriott.com
